Welcome to Whoopsadaisy

Our Services

We provide the following Conductive Education services for children with cerebral palsy and other motor impairments.

School for Parents

-

School for Parents at Whoopsadaisy helps young children with physical needs, aged from 0 to 5 years. The children attend sessions with their Mum, Dad or Carer once a week (during term time). It's hands on for parents so they learn how to help their children in their every day life at home. The sessions are carefully planned to involve the children in active learning programmes that address all aspects of their development; i.e. physical, social, emotional and cognitive.  We also follow the Government's guidelines for an early years curriculum.

Whoopsadaisy sessions take place at the Vallance Community Centre, Conway Court, Sackville Road, Hove. Groups are offered according to age and the child's ability.

Our School for Parents is part of a network co-ordinated by Scope, the national organisation for people with cerebral palsy.   If you would like further details, please contact Beata Kusel, Head of Conductive Education at beata@whoopsadaisy.org or on 0753 3956149.

Holiday Club for 5-12 year olds

Holiday Club Aug 09

Our Holiday Club is for children aged 5-12 years and is held during school holidays. We aim to help the children develop their independence and also make friends and have fun.

Older Children: We recognise that some children may continue to enjoy our clubs and benefit from Conductive Education after they turn 12 years old. If you have an older child who you believe may benefit from our services please contact Sarah Thomas at sarah@whoopsadaisy.org, who can arrange for you to meet with a Conductor to discuss whether or not we can help. We also offer private consultations to this age group at a cost of £25 per hour.

Both children and parents benefit as carers can take time off with the reassurance that their child will be cared for in a professional and fun way.  Alternatively, parents are welcome to stay and work with their child in order to pick up some ideas how to help their child be more independent at home and at school. Our sessions will be held at a fully accessible venue in Hove and are from 11am to 3pm.

2012 dates coming soon..

The cost of the holiday club is £30.00 per day.  Payment is required in advance. Financial help is available towards this cost via Tax Credit (www.direct.gov.uk) and/or via the Cerebra organisation (www.cerebra.org.uk).

If you are interested in booking a place, or would like to discuss further details, please contact Sarah Thomas at sarah@whoopsadaisy.org or telephone Whoopsadaisy on 07588555761.
